All the advice I see is Elite void with a dragon crossbow (I can't afford a better crossbow) but, when I run it all through a dps calculator, they say that using Karil's with a blowpipe and adamant darts is better dps than Elite Void with a dragon crossbow and ruby bolts (e). How to deal with Karil. I recently started Barrows and I'm currently on 23 chests. Every run I'm having the most trouble with Karil. I've tried two methods so far: melee and Magic. With the melee route I'd dds spec him and finish him off with a Dragon Scimitar. With Magic I'd autocast Iban's Blast. I seem to be killing him much slower than any ... This isn't factoring in the spec, but the extra hit would have to add 5% total DPS just to break even. Considering the time investment for amethyst arrows, I'd rather save those for amethyst darts and use Karil's.Kbow is 106gp per shot, blowpipe is 77gp per shot and 1/5 chance of breaking a dart. So 77gp + 20% of the price of whatever dart you're using, with mith = 11.8+77 = 89gp per shot. Blowpipe with mith darts is significantly higher in both damage per second and damage per shot than the kbow (67 range strength versus 55 range strength).Karil the Tainted is the fourth oldest of the Barrows brothers. Karil's crypt is located to the south of the Barrows area. He uses ranged equipment, which make him vulnerable to Melee attacks.
